Dr. Dhiman Sen is a Consultant in the Department of Internal Medicine at Manipal Hospitals E.M. Bypass, Kolkata, with over four decades of clinical experience that exudes both depth and breadth. He served as the Director of the Department of Internal Medicine and Senior Vice Chairman at Medica Superspecialty Hospital, Kolkata. Dr. Sen’s expertise spans General Internal Medicine and its sub-specialties, including Geriatric Medicine, Rheumatology, Hematology, Pulmonary Medicine, Critical Care, Cardiology, Neurology, Gastroenterology, Endocrinology, and Infectious Diseases. He has a special interest in Intensive / Critical Care and Gastroenterology. He has managed a wide spectrum of complex and critically ill patients, handling conditions such as Aplastic Anaemia, ITP, GBS, Dermatomyositis, Job syndrome, and various autoimmune diseases. His proficiency in utilizing advanced therapies for Severe Sepsis and Multi-organ Dysfunction has been crucial in improving patient outcomes. He also has significant experience in using Highly Active Anti-Retroviral Therapy (HAART) for HIV/AIDS patients. Throughout his career, Dr. Sen has been involved in groundbreaking treatments, including coil embolization for Liver cancer and the use of IVIG in immunodeficiency states. He has successfully managed critical conditions such as Dengue Shock Syndrome, Chikungunya, Cerebral Malaria, Leptospirosis, and a variety of complex infections, including tuberculosis, multi-drug resistant bacterial infections, and invasive fungal diseases. His expertise extends to treating Diabetic emergencies, Thyrotoxic crises, and managing patients with ALI/ARDS.
