Dr. Arghya Kundu Choudhury is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at The Mission Hospital, Durgapur, with advanced expertise in Joint Replacement, Reconstruction, Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy, and Complex Trauma Surgery. He holds MS in Orthopaedics from AIIMS and an MCh in Joint Replacement and Reconstruction from AIIMS. He has also completed a Diploma in Football Medicine from FIFA and holds FIASM. His specialized training includes Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy, with previous experience as a Consultant at the Centre of Robotic Joint Replacement, Sarvodaya Hospital, Faridabad.
Dr. Choudhury specializes in advanced and minimally invasive joint replacement procedures, including minimally invasive Total Knee Replacement using the Subvastus Approach and Total Hip Replacement through Direct Anterior and mini-posterior approaches. His expertise also includes partial knee replacement, robotic-assisted knee and hip replacement, and single-stage or two-stage revision joint replacement surgeries.
His sports medicine expertise includes ACL, PCL, and multiligament reconstruction, meniscus repair, cartilage preservation procedures such as microfracture and OATS, and regenerative medicine including orthobiologic therapies such as PRP and PDGF intra-articular injections. He also performs Total and Reverse Shoulder Replacement and manages complex orthopaedic trauma cases.
A member of SICOT, ISAKOS, and the Indian Orthopaedic Association, Dr. Choudhury combines advanced surgical techniques with a patient-centered approach to restore mobility, relieve pain, and improve functional outcomes in patients with joint, sports-related, and complex orthopaedic conditions.
